REMINDER (March & April 2010): KBIC Seniors-Free Tax Preparation

Call Keith Rolof 353-6623 x4193 between the hours of 9 am - Noon Monday thru Friday to schedule your appointment.

Keith will assign you a time to meet with him at the Ojibwa Seniors Center which will take place between the hours of 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday.
At that time, Keith will also discuss which information/documents that you will need to bring with you to your appointment. YOU MUST CALL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE GOING TO THE OJIBWA SENIORS CENTER!!!

Eligibility Requirements: Enrolled KBIC Members 55 years of age & older.

Four Thunders Drum Prevention/Intervention Program
FINAL SESSION-All Community Members are Welcome to Attend
Location: KBOCC Gymnasium (Baraga)

The "Four Thunders Drum" group will talk to the participants about the cultural meaning of the drum, followed by drumming, singing, and dancing. The participants from Session I made their own sticks and the group worked together to construct their own drum. This drum was used during the second session and will also be used during the third and final session. The drum sticks have become property of those that made them and the drum has been turned over to the KBIC Youth Program.

St. Vincent de Paul Sacred Heart Conference, Baraga County Catholic Church/MSU's Snap Ed Program is sponsoring a SMART SHOPPERS=SMART COOKS event Date: March 18, 2010

Learn tips & tricks used by Smart Shoppers. Come find out how advertisers encourage your spending habits. Learn new ways to save money & still prepare awesome meals that are healthy & delicious. Marie Harju, with the MSU Extension office, will be teaching ways to save with economical recipes for creative cooks.
This class is free & open to all with lunch & child care being provided. Participants will receive food to prepare the recipes at home, as well as, shopping & kitchen prizes from St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry & Store.
